Our Mission Statement:

"Making More and Better Disciples."

Our Mission is rooted in the "Great Commission" given by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age." The two key thrusts of these marching orders are evangelism and discipleship.

Our Strategy is Fourfold:

bulletWe are committed to exalting Christ.
bulletWe are committed to encouraging Christians.
bulletWe are committed to equipping believers.
bulletWe are committed to evangelizing the world.

Church Profile and History:

Trinity Wesleyan Church is a local congregation of the North Carolina East District of The Wesleyan Church.

Trinity Wesleyan Church began in 1942 as Spray Pilgrim Holiness Church. The name was changed following the merger of the Pilgrim Holiness and Wesleyan Methodist churches in June of 1968. In 1980, Rev. Wayne A. Johnson, the current pastor, came to Trinity. In 1982, the church added 1,100 square feet to the building on West Aiken Road, enlarging the sanctuary, adding a baptistry, and two Sunday School rooms.

In 1985, the congregation purchased twenty-two acres of land, located at 186 East Aiken Road, from Fieldcrest Cannon. Construction on the new church began in 1991 and was completed over a one year period. Volunteers sacrificed thousands of hours to help construct the new facility. The church began holding services in the new building in August of 1992.

The church began a child care center in September of 1999. The ministry of Trinity Wesleyan Education Center grew rapidly, and an educational building was constructed during 2002-03. The TWEC building is used for child care, Sunday school and a fellowship hall. It features a fully equipped commercial kitchen.

Trinity features two services every Sunday morning.  A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., and a traditional service is held at 10:45 a.m. Discipleship classes (Sunday School) for all age groups is held from 9:45-10:30 a.m.

In June of 2002, Trinity began a ministry to the Eden area Hispanic community.  The Hispanic Sunday school is held at 1:30 p.m. each Sunday, and Hispanic worship follows at 2:30 p.m.  Thursday night Hispanic Bible Studies are at 7:00 p.m.

In 2005, Trinity Wesleyan began "Phase 2" of it's TWEC building featuring a gymnasium with a platform/stage and two classrooms for Middle School and High School youth meetings.  "Phase 2" was finished in late 2006.

Who Are The Wesleyans?

The Wesleyan Church is an evangelical, Protestant denomination. We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes possible a wonderful personal relationship with God, a holy life empowered by His Spirit for witness and service, and assurance of eternal life in heaven. Each week, more than 300,000 Wesleyans meet in over 4,000 churches and missions in 72 nations worldwide.

What We Believe:

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know him and that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.
